Pre-Engineering Program

Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical engineering is the most diverse field of the engineering disciplines. A mechanical engineer designs and manufactures parts, tools, engines, and machines that function well and have the ability to withstand the forces and the temperatures of the environment they will be subjected to. Mechanical engineers use creativity and inventive skills to design and manufacture parts for automobiles, airplanes, computers, energy systems, sports equipment, air-conditioning, hydraulics, refrigeration, robotics, and many other applications. Emerging fields of work include biotechnology and nanotechnology.

The Bachelor of Science transfer program at Asia-Pacific International University allows you to study for up to two years in the tranquility of a tropical resort-like setting in Thailand, where you can enjoy a multi-cultural environment and low tuition and living expenses. Then transfer to Walla Walla University in the United States and graduate with an ABET accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Career opportunities are available in both small entrepreneurial companies and large industries. Mechanical engineers are well-paid professionals, and in 2012, the starting salary for mechanical engineers in the United States was $62,900 USD.

Our Engineering programs allow students to take up to two years of classes at Asia-Pacific International University, and then transfer to Walla Walla University (WWU) in Washington State, USA, to complete the degree. The time to completion in the United States typically takes three more years. Upon completion, students graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (B.S.E ) or a Bachelor of Science (B.S) degree granted by Walla Walla University.
